ICT barriers in education ,in rural schools students have weak ICT background and consequently their progress at tertiary education level and career choices suffer.
.technological under development
.low literacy level
.poverty
.lack of teacher confidence in intergrating ICT into pedagogical practice
.unvailability of resources in schools
.lack of ICT use in initial teacher training
.lack of time
.lack of effective training
.crime
In my school ICT barriers were available because computers were there but we were not allowed to use them because of time and no one was willing to teach us more about computers.some of the computers were broken and old and the teachers did not have experience about computers so it was hard for us as students to learn about computers.the worse barrier was crime because some of the computers were stolen by other community members, the government must introduce training for teachers who are willing to teach students about ICT.
unavailability of resources in school makes it difficult for teachers to commit themselves on computer training as the is no need for them because the is no computer available in the school. For sure that is the main barrier.
ReplyDeleteIndeed what you saying here need no argument! ICT in rural areas is very poor and we should consider in making it available to the most disadvantaged children to make sure they change their ICT skills and help those who are left in the dark.
